WHY WE LOVE IT:

WINEMAKER: Randy Pitts, a grapegrower and winemaker on the family vineyard for decades. He calls himself a 'wine shepherd." We call him just plain awesome.

WHAT WE TASTED:  An exotic, lightly sweet dessert wine with dark spicy fruit. The taste of big, ripe wild blackberries and juicy raspberries hits up front, then a hint of pepper kicks in mid-palate, then enjoy a non-syrupy slightly sweet lingering finish. Can cellar for 8-10 years.  

AVA DESIGNATED: Russian River AVA, Sonoma County

• Dark chocolate!
• Mild and soft cheeses
• New York Cheesecake topped with berries
• Apple pie or fruit tarts

PERSONALITY:  Balanced and delicate late harvested Zinfandel dessert wine. Delicately crafted wine which will satisfy almost any palate. Perfectly balanced by bright acidity and black pepper notes.
