AVA DESIGNATED: Mokelumne River in California's Central Valley
The Church Block vines were planted in1938 and purchased in the 1970's from the Catholic church.
WHAT WE TASTED: An aromatic bouquet of ripe dark berries, subtle oak, and a hint of earthiness evoke a feeling of stepping into a cathedral of flavor. On the palate, black raspberry with cherry along with some cinnamon and savory elements, like leather and soil. This impressive wine has a smooth, velvety texture with well-integrated tannins and a harmonious balance of dark fruit flavors making it both approachable and elegant.
