WINEMAKER: Randy Pitts, a grapegrower and winemaker on the family vineyard for decades. He calls himself a 'wine shepherd." We call him just plain awesome.
WHAT WE TASTED: Sweet florals, white rose petal aroma on the nose followed by fresh cut pear and peach, perfumed with honeysuckle and a juicy long finish. Beautiful weighty palate pleaser. This wine will increase in its silky body and perfumed honey nuance with a few years in the bottle.
AVA DESIGNATED: Russian River AVA, Sonoma

- Vanilla ice cream and mango
- Foie gras with brioche toast
- Comte, Emmenteller and Manchego cheese plate
- Panacota or cheesecake
PERSONALITY: Randy practices on-time harvesting--a once common winegrowing approach that picks the grapes earlier rather than later keeping berry structure intact. Future wine tastes juicy with lower sugar! Gewurtz grapes are harvested and taken whole cluster to a local freezer where the fruit sits for 9 days at -32 degrees. The frozen clusters are then rushed to the crushpad in the early morning and hard pressed until tiny droplets of pure fructose slowly flow.
