WHAT WE TASTED: The wine bursts with aromas of ripe black cherry, blackberry, and hints of spice. AVA DESIGNATED: El Dorado
- El Dorado County is located in the Sierra Foothills and the grapes from this region were originally planted by the gold miners in the 1850s and 1860s.
- Vineyards in this AVA range from 600 feet to 3400 feet in elevation and combine with the topography to create wide temperature swings late in fall, known as "Indian Summer," which creates grape flavors that cannot be found in other regions.
